A new state report says Kern County had some of California’s highest sexually transmitted disease rates between 2011 and 2013.

Kern County’s female gonorrhea rate ranked 56th, and the male rate ranked 57th among 58 counties in the state. The county also had California’s highest chlamydia rate during that timeframe.
