A Sacramento man accused of prostituting a 21-year-old woman is behind bars after he was found with the victim at the northwest Vagabond Inn on Knudsen Drive.

Sheriff’s spokesman Ray Pruitt says 38-year-old Joshua Davis was booked into Kern County Jail on Monday after making stops with the victim in Sacramento, Oakland, San Jose and Fresno.

“She was forced to prostitute herself throughout several other cities here in California, but we specifically investigated the incidents here in the Bakersfield area,” he said.

Pruitt says Davis and the victim had been in Bakersfield for about eight days.
