Police have released a teenager back into the custody of his parents after he told staff at Delano High School that he had a bomb in his backpack.
Det. Cpl. Ryan Wilson says the school was evacuated before 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. The bomb squad was called soon after.
“The bomb squad arrived at approximentally 4:35 p.m.,” he said. “There have been no injuries to staff or students.”
The student was arrested at the scene.
Techs failed to find any kind of explosive device during a search of the backpack.
