The Kern County Coroner’s Office says the man who died in a plane crash in the mountains of Tejon Ranch near Lebec is 36-year-old Ryan Ward of Saint Charles, Mo.

The wreckage was found last week.

The FAA says Ward was traveling from Bakersfield to Blythe. Federal investigators with the NTSB are trying to figure out what caused the crash.
