The coroner’s office has confirmed that a 70-year-old Bakersfield man died from asphyxia after being buried by dirt and rocks on Hang Glider Hill near the California Living Museum east of Bakersfield.

Donald Reading was digging into the hillside just after noon on April 25 when it gave way. The death has been ruled an accident.
