Lanes of 23rd and 24th streets in downtown Bakersfield will be closed this weekend as crews work on a project that will smooth out the road surface.

The partial shutdown between M and C streets will start at 7 a.m. Saturday and end Sunday afternoon.

Drivers are being urged to obey road signs and flaggers.
