One Dead After Wreck Between School Bus, Two Other Vehicles

A crash between two vehicles and a school bus on Bakersfield’s east side has killed one person.

Sgt. Marvin Casey with the California Highway Patrol says the bus collided with the pair of cars at East Truxtun Avenue and Gage Street at around 2:30 p.m. Friday.

“A male adult – that’s all we know at this time,” he said. “The other party is a female adult that wast transported to (Kern Medical Center) with major injuries.”

Another vehicle was also involved, but it’s unclear as to whether there was anybody in that vehicle.

The Bakersfield City School District says at least eight College Heights Elementary students were on the bus. None were hurt, and all were taken home without issue.
