A national Gallop poll says people from Bakersfield are some of the least likely to feel safe and secure in their community.

Less than 64 percent of area residents responded that they always feel safe, putting the city behind only Stockton-Lodi and Fresno in the ranking of 100 metropolitan areas.

Des Moines, Iowa, topped the list.
