Bakersfield’s housing market remains strong, despite a 10.6 percent increase in the number of homes for sale in April.

Affiliated Appraisers owner Gary Crabtree says he was expecting the increase.

“As the market moves into the spring and summer marketing season, more and more sellers are placing their homes on the market,” he said.

Crabtree says pending sales were up by about 6.5 percent last month, and the median home price increased $5,000 to $210,000.
