The motorcyclist killed after being cut off by a pickup at Sunset Boulevard and Towerline Road northeast of Arvin has been identified by the coroner’s office at 57-year-old Danny Cottengim of Bakersfield.
He died at the scene of the wreck, which happened after 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The driver accused of killing Cottengim is jailed on $1 million bond, and will enter pleas to second-degree murder, DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter charges next week.

52-year-old Angel Jimenez of Arvin made his first court appearance on Friday. His arraignment was continued to May 15.
