The girl who died after collapsing during gym at Richland Junior High School in Shafter has been identified by the coroner’s office as 14-year-old Paula Victoria June Hernandez of Bakersfield.

First responders arrived at the school just after 10 a.m. Thursday. The girl died about an hour later at Mercy Hospital Southwest.
