A teen could face a fine, probation, or time in juvenile hall after taking a swing at a Cecil Avenue Math and Science Academy teacher.

Sgt. Pete Lopez with the Delano Police Department says it happened on April 30, and the whole thing was caught on camera.

“A 15-year-old attempted to punch the physical education teacher,” he said. “Police were called out, and the 15-year-old was arrested and cited back to his parents.”

Lopez says the teacher wasn’t hurt.

The Delano Union School District says the student is suspended and could be expelled, but would not comment any further.
