A 64-year-old Bakersfield man has been given a nine-year prison sentence after a DUI crash where he killed a woman in a wheelchair.

Renold Elder pleaded no contest to vehicular manslaughter on May 5. He pinned 67-year-old Maria Laquin against a wall with his SUV near the Wilson Towers senior apartments in 2014.
