The man killed after being struck by a vehicle while walking alongside Weedpatch Highway north of Lamont has been identified by the Kern County Coroner’s Office as 63-year-old Michael Robertson of Bakersfield.

Robertson was found dead north of Hermosa Road early Saturday. The California Highway Patrol says they’re not sure why the driver veered onto the shoulder.
