The pedestrian struck south of Poso Drive on Wasco Avenue has been identified by the coroner’s office as 25-year-old Amanda Mendoza of Los Angeles.

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office says she was hit by a driver just before 5 a.m. Monday. It’s not clear why Mendoza was in the middle of the road.
