Bakersfield’s annual Fourth of July fireworks event at the Park at Riverwalk is back on after city representatives found a pair of last-minute sponsors.

The city council was told Wednesday that San Joaquin Community Hospital and Kaiser Permanente stepped up. The city canceled the event days before, citing budget problems.
