Kern High School District trustees have opted to remove the principal of Mira Monte High School in Bakersfield amid harassment, intimidation and bullying allegations from teachers and students.

District spokesperson Lisa Krch said the vote to reassign Jaime Quinonez came during closed session in a special Friday meeting.

“That reassignment has yet to be determined, and the district cannot comment further about this personnel matter,” she said.

Krch said the board has yet to determine a timeline to find Quinonez’s replacement.

Dolores Huerta said both she and her foundation were disappointed by the decision, saying test scores have improved at the school since Quinonez took over.
