A married couple is jailed after leading a chase through northwest Bakersfield with their two children in a vehicle towing a stolen water trailer.

Ray Pruitt with the Kern County Sheriff’s Office says 34-year-old Daniel Holder bolted from deputies with 25-year-old Samantha Saenz after they were spotted in a State Road parking lot Wednesday, and continued to flee after wrecking at Hageman and Coffee.

“He was involved in a second traffic collision with two vehicles here at the intersection of Hageman and Calloway,” he said. “After the second collision occurred, (Holder) exited the vehicle and fled on foot.”

Holder was found in a Quicksilver Drive backyard.

The children are in protective custody. Pruitt said there were no serious injuries.
