The Kern County Sheriff’s Office is training its personnel on how to use 304 recently-purchased automatic external defibrillators.
Lt. Doug Jauch says 235 AEDs will be in patrol cars by as early as next week, and the other 69 will be at sheriff’s facilities.
“The testing will be completed at the end of this month, and we plan on issuing the AEDs starting next week to all of the personnel that have completed the online testing,” he said.
Roughly $200,000 was spent on the devices.
