Police have arrested a man for raping and trying to kill a woman at a motel on Union Avenue near Grove Street in Bakersfield.

28-year-old Jose Roldan of Bakersfield was jailed Friday after the incident late Thursday night at the Capri Motel.

The victim is hospitalized in stable condition, according to a Bakersfield Police Department press release.
