The Kern County Fire Department has sent five engines and 22 firefighters to Santa Clarita to help fight a brush fire that has scorched at least 200 acres and forced hundreds of evacuations.

Investigators aren’t sure what sparked that fire, which started after 1 p.m. Wednesday near Interstate 5.
