Bakersfield police say the two officers on paid leave after shooting and killing a man at a southeast park are nine-year veteran Jose Galvan and rookie Jesus Trinidad.

Witnesses told investigators that Daniel Hernandez Jr. fired rounds at a person sitting in a vehicle in Stiern Park on Tuesday night. BPD says the officers opened fire after ordering Hernandez to put his gun down.
