The man accused of leading a pursuit through east Bakersfield that ended with the death of a Bakersfield Police Department officer now faces a count of second-degree murder.

Bail for 32-year-old Julian Hernandez was also increased to $2 million Friday.

David Nelson was killed after his cruiser crashed into a brick wall June 26.
