The torch for the Special Olympics will make a stop in Bakersfield before reaching Los Angeles for the games scheduled for July 25.

The “Flame of Hope” is scheduled to reach the Liberty Bell on Truxtun Avenue at 7:45 a.m. Friday. A ceremony will be held at that time, according to a Bakersfield Police Department press release.

BPD says drivers may find traffic delays between A Street and Chester Avenue.
