Farmers Assessing Rain Damage

The Kern County Farm Bureau says the production agriculture industry is still assessing crop damage caused by recent torrential rains and thunderstorms.

Executive Director Beatris Sanders says not all farmers appreciated the rainfall over past four days.

“Reports that I’ve heard from some of our growers in the Wasco and Lost Hills areas was potential mold issues with some of the tomato grow crops,” she said.

Sanders also says almond growers were also affected after the storm knocked down about 200 trees.
