Council members have passed a ban on the sale and possession of synthetic drugs within the boundaries of Bakersfield.

A second reading of the ordinance by the Bakersfield City Council was approved unanimously on the consent agenda Wednesday night. The new regulations on “spice” and “bath salts” will take effect next month.
