Kern County Fire Sends Five Engines to Northern Calif.

The Kern County Fire Department is waiting to hear if they need to send additional personnel up to the Wragg Fire near Lake Berryessa in Napa County.

Capt. Tyler Townsend says five engines and 22 firefighters arrived in northern California early Thursday afternoon.

“They’re using air resources, bulldozers, hand crews and type-three fire engines, like the strike teams that we sent,” he said.

Over 1,300 firefighters have been dispatched to battle the fire, which, as of Thursday night, has spread to nearly 7,000 acres and is threatening around 200 structures.
