McFarland’s former police chief is out of jail after being arrested for battery by Palm Springs police.

Greg Herrington’s girlfriend told officers the 50-year-old pushed her at their home on July 4. Herrington was hired by the McFarland PD in 2009, became chief in 2011 and resigned two years later.
