A Shafter man has been sentenced to five years in prison for his part scheme to smuggle 84 pounds of cocaine from Mexico into Bakersfield.

35-year-old Jimmy Gil worked with two Mexican nationals to bring the drugs into the country. Gil and the other men were also forced to forfeit over $3 million cash.
