One of the three Mojave-based military contractor employees who died in a mid-air plane crash near San Diego over the weekend was a former police officer in Bakersfield and a graduate of Tehachapi High School.

BPD says Carlos Palos was on the force between 2007 and 2008.

John Kovach and Jeff Percy of BAE Systems were also killed.
