Police say two people are recovering from minor and moderate injuries after being shot near 5th and Eye streets in central Bakersfield.

It happened before 9 p.m. Sunday, when a man exited a passing vehicle, opened fire then fled. BPD says the gunman remains at large. It’s not known if the shooting was gang-related.
