Kern County Supervisors have hired long-time staffer Nick Cullen as head of the Animal Services Division. He’s been with the agency for 10 years and was appointed interim director last year. Cullen played a key role during the launch of the county’s new animal shelter on Fruitvale Avenue, when Bakersfield took over the facility on Mt. Vernon Avenue.
