The Chancellor of the Kern County College District has sent an open letter to the media regarding the controversy that’s erupted around Bakersfield College President Sonya Christian. Chancellor Sandra Serrano says Christian was offered a temporary contract when Trustees split over whether to keep her on. Serrano says it was a question of leadership and accountability, and that trust was “undermined” when Christian released her confidential performance review.
