A Bakersfield oil producer has been fined more than $257-thousand for violations that include falsifying reports. State regulators claim a pattern of risky behavior by Bennett Petroleum. The Bakersfield Californian reports Bennett is charged with 385 cases of filing inaccurate paperwork and 81 cases involving testing of idle wells.
