A fire that caused $350-thousand in damage to a several residences on Oregon Street in east Bakersfield began with an electrical short in a car. Several vehicles and structures were burning when firefighters arrived early Sunday morning, prompting a second alarm call out. Eight people were displaced, one firefighter had minor injuries when the roof collapsed.
