DEPUTY ESCAPES CUSTODY

The Sheriff’s Office and Bakersfield Police are looking for a deputy who was arrested for having guns, meth and bomb-making materials, only to bust out of the back of a patrol car in the garage of the downtown jail. Sheriff’s spokesman Ray Pruitt 44-year-old Edward Tucker was picked up last night at San Loren Park during a welfare check, but somehow got loose around 10pm. Tucker is a 19-year veteran of the department who’d been on leave for a year. He’d just made bail for his arrest this weekend for being high on meth and waiving guns at some girls on Belle Terrace. Investigators believe Deputy Tucker may be hiding in a downtown neighborhood and are asking people to keep an eye out for him. Tucker is a white male, five foot seven, 170 pounds, black hair, brown eyes. who was last seen wearing glasses, a black short sleeve and shorts with flip flops. Call 9-1-1 if you see him.
