Bakersfield Police are investigating the possible attempted kidnapping of a 13-year-old girl who was on her way to school. Sgt. Gary Carruesco says the girl was approached by a light skinned man around 7:00 this morning on Monitor Street near Stiern Park.

The man is described as about 5’8 and of medium build, wearing a dark shirt and jeans. A white van was also parked nearby, but it’s not known if it’s associated with the suspect.
