HUMAN TRAFFICKING AWARENESS DAY

The 3rd Annual Human Trafficking Awareness Day will be held today at noon at the Liberty Bell in Downtown Bakersfield.The event is put on by the Kern Coalition Against Human Trafficking (KCAHT) and will feature speeches from survivors and a resource fair. Mayor Harvey Hall will be on hand to present a proclamation from the city.

The KCAHT hopes to shine a spotlight on the 130 people who were victims of Human Trafficking in Kern County, including children and labor trafficking.

Anyone who suspects someone of being a victim of human trafficking is encouraged to call the National Human Trafficking Resource Center at 1-888-373-7888.
