Five people have been booked for a burglary at Compton Junior High in the College Heights neighborhood of Bakersfield.

Witnesses told sheriffs officers the thieves broke into the school on Sunday morning and took 22 laptops, two projectors, and many other small electronics to a house one block away on Edwards Avenue, where they were later arrested. The suspects are Johnny Mendez (24), Brian Hulsey (30), Shelly Valencia (41), and Elsa Martinez (37).
