FORMER SCHOOL DEAN SENTENCED

A former school dean has been sentenced to three years probation after pleading no contest to possessing child pornography.

James Wofford resigned from Grimmway Academy in Arvin last August after he sent photos of children between the ages six and eight to an undercover ICE agent. There is no evidence he ever contacted or photographed students.

Wofford also spent two days in jail on the charge.

He is a former standout football player for Bakersfield High School and spent one year in the NFL playing for the Minnesota Vikings.
