California State University, Bakersfield is looking for a new Vice President after an abrupt resignation.

The school did not provide any details as to why David Melendez, who served as Vice President for University Advancement and the Executive Director of the Cal State Bakersfield Foundation, left except to say he stepped down for personal reasons.

A search will start before the end of the year to find his replacement. CSUB Associate Vice President of Development Victor Martin will fill Melendez’s posts until a final replacement is found.
