AIR QUALITY INDEX CHANGES MEET FEDERAL STANDARDS

The Valley Air District has made changes to the daily Air Quality Index readings to reflect national standards set by the Environmental Protection Agency.

Regulators are worried this may give the perception that Kern County air quality is getting worse even though they say the valley had a record clean air summer in 2015. The San Joaquin Valley had zero unhealthy ozone days for the first time ever last July.
