Bakersfield arson investigators are looking into why a small fire happened at the Four Points Sheraton hotel on California Avenue.

There was heavy smoke coming from a downstairs room around 3:00 Thursday afternoon and light smoke in the room above. Staff helped evacuate the guests. The damage is estimated to be about $15,000.
