MIMI’S CAFE SHUT DOWN OVER HEALTH CODE VIOLATIONS

The Kern County Public Health Department has shut down Mimi’s Cafe in central Bakersfield for health code violations that include sewage overflow.

Inspectors also cited food being stored at incorrect temperatures and no paper towels for closing the California Avenue restaurant Wednesday. Mimi’s says it will work with the county to reopen.

It is currently the only restaurant in Bakersfield closed for health code reasons.
