The sheriff’s office Rural Crimes Unit has arrested  49 year-old Denny Gutschlag from Taft for allegedly stealing $1,700 in copper wire.

The theft from a farm on highways 46 and 33 in western Kern County was first reported February 3rd. Evidence at the scene led deputies to Gutschlag this week, who was already on post-release supervision.
