A weekend fire that broke out in a hangar at Meadows Field airport has caused about $2 million in damage.

Heavy smoke was coming from the 4,000 square foot Bakersfield Jet building when county firefighters arrived around 8:30 Sunday morning. An RV, a boat, and other property were destroyed. The fire may have been sparked inside a parked car.
