A woman is hospitalized with moderate injuries after being struck by a car while she crossed Hughes Lane in south Bakersfield.

Police say the victim was not in the crosswalk when she was hit at 9:48 Wednesday night near Bea Court. The driver is cooperating with the investigation. Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the accident.
