KERN COUNTY ECONOMIC SUMMIT FOCUSES ON MILLENNIALS

More than 200 local business owners came out to the 16th annual Kern County Economic Summit in Bakersfield to hear how they can better attract Millennials.

Greater Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce CEO Nick Ortiz thinks it’s important for employers to learn how to work with that group because so many are coming to live in the Southern Valley. A recent report said Kern County has the second best job market in the country for young people 18-35 behind Riverside.

Attendees also heard from speakers and panelists about how the price of oil will affect the economy.
