The Bakersfield man who took a plea deal in the murder-for-hire killing of his adopted son has had his sentencing pushed back until the presiding judge is available.

George Dean had pleaded no contest to voluntary manslaughter for hiring Gabriel Rodriguez to shoot his son Jonathan in 2014, but defense attorney Mark Raimondo thinks because the case went from a death penalty one to a lesser charge, the same judge should hand down the sentence.

Dean also plead no contest to committing a sex act with the underage shooter. He faces up to six years eight months in prison. His next court date is March 30th.
