A neighborhood library box that was reported stolen in Bakersfield has been returned to its owner, after firefighters found it in Shafter during a call.

It was reported to the Shafter Police Department on Friday, which in turn served a warrant and took the red cabinet, books and a chair. Police are still investigating the theft.
